Community Control & Probation Services
Youth who are court-ordered to supervision may be assigned to community control, probation, or intensive probation; the level of intervention being determined by risk assessment screening. The primary purpose of Probation Services is to reduce recidivism rates of youth placed on Community Supervision by implementing and utilizing the evidence-based core principles and practices of Effective Practices in Community Supervision (EPICS), Motivational Interviewing, and High Fidelity Wrap Around. The objective of these programs is to develop and apply a custom-made, strategic response to each individual youth, supported by close monitoring and frequent interactive court reviews, with the primary goal of producing more positive behavioral outcomes.
